Well, if you are a person like me, who loves taking care of her skin and hair by yourself and enjoys doing it, then this post is definitely for you. You can experiment well with this process as well. So, as the title says, a mini hair spa routine is what this post is about.
This hair spa routine consists of 3 steps, the usual ‘Champi’, steaming and a nourishing hair mask. This will leave your hair well nourished, looking extremely healthy, and feeling silky smooth! So here’s how it goes about.
Step 1: The Oil Massage
So all you need to do is, massage your hair well with the oils of your choice, preferably coconut oil. You can sleep it over or if you didn’t find time or were lazy to oil it the previous night, then massage and leave in the oil for at least 2 hours. Though, I would definitely recommend the sleep over. Oiling your hair is a very important stuff as it does it usual nourishing your hair task, but it also preps up your hair for the hair mask if you have frizzy hair like me, as it avoids breakage and tangling.
Step 2: Let’s Steam it Up
The next step will be steaming. Now there are two very easy ways to do it,
- First, put on a shower cap and simply run over hair over with a blow dryer.
- Second, you can soak a hair towel in hot water, squeeze out excess water and just wrap this around your hair after tying it into a bun. Leave it on for about 20 minutes.
I find the second step much effective, though not as easy as the first one. Steaming helps in having a better blood circulation, effective hair growth, and also hydrates dry hair. But it mainly lifts the hair cuticle and opens the pores in order to allow the hair mask nutrients or any hair treatment to penetrate into the skin.
Step 3: A hair Mask it is!
To make the hair mask, you’ll need,
- 1 spoon Lemon Juice
- 1 spoon Aloe Vera gel
- 1 spoon Almond oil
- 1 banana
- 3-4 spoons Curd
You can vary the amounts used according to hair length and requirement. These measurements were for short to medium hair length. Mix all the ingredients well, doing this in a Mixer will be the best option. Now apply this paste uniformly from roots to tips and then leave it on for about 2 hours and wash off.
So this was the mini hair spa that you can just do in the comforts of your home and time.
Until next time! 🙂
